When To Use Isocratic Pumps

Isocratic analysis uses a separation technique that employs a single solvent or solvent mixture of constant composition. Iso pumping is the most basic type, having one solvent channel and usually delivers a flow in the range of 0.2 ml/min to 10 ml/min. For flows from 0.2 to 5 ml, a pressure of up to 400 bar can be achieved and for flows up to 10 ml/min a pressure of 200 bar can be generated.

Isocratics are often used in quality control applications that support, and are in close proximity to, a manufacturing process.
